Scott Westendorf - Owner & G.C.
Scott is an established local general contractor in the Highlands-Cashiers area with a strong community connection. He holds an unlimited NC General Contractor's license and has been in construction since 1994. As a "hands-on" owner managing the construction end of the business as well as overseeing all of the other facets of the business, Scott works between the client and project manager from design to finish to ensure the home is completed to the ideas and specifications of the client. Scott's education in art & graphic design has proven an added asset to our clients when working in the design stage of their project.
Matthew Stoltzfus - Senior Project Manager
Matthew oversees all construction projects working directly with each Project Manager. Matthew studied aviation at Ohio University before moving to Western North Carolina in 2003 where he has been working as a successful Project Manager for high-end custom homes in the Cashiers/Highlands area. Matthew lives with his family in Brevard and has been a part of the Chinquapin Builders team since 2007.
Danae Westendorf - Vice President & Sales
A native of Highlands, NC, Danae holds a degree in Business/Office Systems Management and oversees customer service and sales. Danae is also a board member at Cashiers Valley Preschool.
Lisa Billingsley - Controller
Lisa is a native of Scaly Mountain, NC, and has a BSBA in Accounting from the Appalachian State University. Lisa has more than 20 years of accounting experience and is responsible for all accounting functions of Chinquapin Builders. Lisa lives with her family in Scaly Mountain and has been a part of the Chinquapin Builders team since Spring of 2023.
Debra Green Hedden - Interior Design Manager
As a specialist in construction consultation, Debra works with our homeowners and contractors to assist in selections, convey ideas, and keep projects on schedule and in budget. After obtaining a degree in Interior Design at Cazenovia College near Syracuse NY, Debra relocated to the Western North Carolina mountains, where she has practiced design since her arrival. A native of the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York, Debra has over 30 years of experience, specializing in luxury residential design. Debra lives with her family in Franklin, NC.
Sam Long - Project Manager
Sam has a degree from Western Carolina University in Construction Management and has over 20 years of construction and project management related experience in Western North Carolina. Sam is also a retired veteran, serving 24 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and the Army National Guard both overseas and at home. Sam and his family have lived in Sylva, NC, since 1999 and he has been a part of the Chinquapin Builders team since 2014.
Darrell Stillson - Project Manager
Darrell has been in the building industry since the late 70's. He owned and operated a general contracting firm as a licensed contractor in San Diego, CA, before relocating to Brevard, NC in early 2018. Darrell's experience in high-end construction allows him to work with homeowners, architects, designers, and subcontractors throughout each phase of the projects to completion.
Brad Rice - Project Manager
Brad has been in the construction industry since 2001 starting out in electrical contracting working for Duke Energy. He then worked locally for 14 years as a Building Inspector for the Jackson County Building Inspections office and holds certifications in all 5 construction trades. Brad is also an active volunteer firefighter for the Cashiers-Glenville Fire Department. Brad and his family live in the Cashiers area where he has lived his entire life.
Sean Martin - Project Manager
Sean Martin moved to the Western NC area in 1996 and has been in the construction industry since 2005. Starting in the electrical trade in 2006, Sean became a licensed electrical contractor in 2010 focusing on high end custom homes in the Cashiers and Highlands area. Sean lives in Sylva with his family and has been on the Chinquapin team since 2023.
